I fixed the asteroid field bug by avoiding them.
(I eliminated all the asteroid field events to fix the bug)

love the mod :) is there anyway that the astroid-field death problem? or is there a way that you can make the astroid-field's show up on the map like the long range scanners? thanks :D

Are you sure you removed all of them? I know of at least one: zoltan border patrol in an asteroid field, asking for either weapon ormining licences, I forget which. But the asteroids worked fine for me there. In fact,in all the events rewritten, I get a wierd graphical bug (due to another mod I think). Basically, the bug is that when something is drawn onto the screen, it never goes away unless something else goes on top of it. So everything that moves has a trail following it.

Can you post a screenshot ingame of the "trail?"
Also, did you have over 4.5 shields when you got the zoltan asteroid field thing? The asteroid storm bug only occurs after you get 4 shields.

Oh, the bug is only at 5+ shields. No, I didn't have that good shields.

I'm pretty sure this is due to this mod and another one, high res background graphics (http://www.ftlgame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3107)

Would it be possible to instead of just rewriting the events, give us a choice to leave? Or better yet, leave automatically if you have 5 shields.

That looks more like a broken graphics card than an FTL bug...

Hi-res graphics might be "overloading" your graphics card.
(e.g. your graphics card and driver can't process the stuff fast enough, etc.)

Given the specs of my computer, I sincerely doubt that. It never occurs anywhere else but the removed asteroid fields. One possible reason is that the hi res graphics mod doesn't know what background to use, because it was expecting a asteroid field, but it isn't there. Even more likely, because in the 10 or so times that it has happened, it has always carried over the same background from the previous beacon.
