I been trying to get the mod running but everytime I run the game I get a runtime error as it finishes loading.

Load order is
CE 1.203
CE Additional Music
CE Inifinite addon
CE Endless Loot
however simply trying to patch CE by itself and running the game gives me the same error nonetheless.

Your game resource files (.dat) have been corrupted. Delete the backup files in the SMM backup folder (the .dat.bak files, or something close), reinstall your Ftl game, and try patching the mods again.

I have a complaint.
After going through the pain of unlocking Engi C, mainly because of its unique augment... why the hell did you replace that augment with a science lab? It's gone from best offensive drone ship to best trader. I know science lab is basically OP income, but I was looking forward to having the defense scrambler. </rant>

There is an addon that reverts all ships to their basic AE leyouts.

Also this ship has a stealth drone now, so it does barely need the defense scrambler in the early game.

Yeah but that's the one drone, it's a weak argument, since the reason the defense scrambler is so good is that you can have a full battery of drones as your primary offense and never run into an enemy that can just completely shut down your offense. Sure there's hacking and system damage, but that's temporary, enemies with anti-drones can just completely stop a drone focused offense, total negation, and it also negates hacking. This ship was the only ship where hacking was guaranteed to be available in every encounter.
One drone does not an offensive battery make, nor does it protect your hacking.
Basically the selling point of the Engi C is its the only drone ship that can't be shut down completely by RNG with the new hard counter against drones that AE introduced(and I think CE expanded upon).

Thats why I said early game. You don't have to rely on a battery of drones at this point and you can't in late game either, unless you have other additional augs that help you get back drone parts. I'm pretty sure the Drone Manufacturer cant even do that by itself. Anti drones can not entirely stop your drone based offense if you keep your stealth drone. You'll just need some more support weapons for that to work in mid and late game.
Different player ship loadouts are different. Thats what they are there for. They are also a showcase and introduce player to new CE machanics (in this case stealth drones and the Onboard Science Lab.) Engi C gained the small weakness of not being able to hack every enemy, but also gained a great advantage. And as mentioned by Lunaraia it's entirely up to you if you want to play that loadout. You are not obliged to use it and can easily revert it with the CE Vanilla Player Ship Loadout Addon.

I'm having a bit of an issue at the moment with the graphics, the whole thing has gone really spazzy for me.
For example

Notice how there is a sort of "shadow" above the ship, and the crew are all spazzy?

I had this occur one time when I started the game while SMM was still patching.

Maybe try re-patching the mod or re-downloading it altogether.

The oddest thing has fixed it. I re-patched the mod without the base game file in SMM. Now it works fine, but with a slightly longer loading time at the beginning.
Great mod, by the by... the by.
EDIT: Just realised that was a remnant from the sM Polish kit, which I had left over from cleaning up accidentally. My bad.
