:o Wow, this is just what I've been looking for. Now a few more questions: Can you use it to add artillery to non-federation vessels? and what about upgrading systems past their max?

The saved game editor operates within a range of possibilities based on the game's resources. You can install systems only if the shipBlueprint allows it. You can add weapons, again as if from a store, but you can't change the weapons themselves.

You can upgrade a system, but only up to a max defined in its systemBlueprint (or a special override in the shipBlueprint where the system was assigned to a room, iirc).

Modding the game's resources, on the other hand, changes what's possible. You can redefine blueprints for ships, systems, weapons, etc with a mod. And the editor will often adapt (as seen in the video editing a ship from a star trek mod).

Perfect. So its not Uber cheaty, just cheaty. Just what I needed in an editor. Can't wait for you to finish the AE version!

EDIT: So to help, I save and quit in different scenarios, and then post the dump? If so, any specific dumps you 're looking for? :|

No, I don't need dumps.
I need people to investigate unknown values in the dumps: like "Alpha?" "Beta?" "Gamma?" "Delta?" etc.
They're greek and have question marks by them.

Play the game until you find a situation that changes them.
Try to confirm by getting into that situation again.
Then report your findings.

Crew still have a few unknowns.

Any easier whay to monitor the greek than just constantly quitting, checking them, then going back in?

I don't know if AE introduced this feature or if it's always been there, but you don't have to exit the game entirely to save scum.

The game will save when you return to the main menu.
Then, you can backup "continue.sav" and scrutinize the copy.

You can also replace "continue.sav" with a different backup and resume that.

Vhati, how hard would it be to release an update wherein we can change the amount of scrap we have in the game?

Or just edit the really concretely known things. Maybe:

scrap, fuel, missiles, drone parts, hull damage

And then the "rebel pursuit" on/off switch.

I think he's intending to release something with basic functionality, as soon as he has something with basic functionality. AE didn't just tack on chunks of code for the new content, it also reworked how a ton of the original content is implemented, to the point that in a lot of ways he had to start from scratch. Just be patient, pestering him is a lot more likely to be frustrating than it is to be motivational.

Ah, thank you for telling me; I didn't know that the creators had reworked the saves. I simply believed that they only added functionality.
