I recall a PC Gamer article on the website and it being mentioned in ... I think both the US and UK podcasts at around the same time, I think some of them had attended some Indie awards show or conference and told us all about it. At the time there was just the main FTL website which had the first youtube video eventually and I think there was like one thing in the News section. But it was enough, the stories of the ill fated crew were enticing.

I found it by accident when I logged onto onlive on the last days of the indie showcase. Only played it for a couple of days and was hooked.

VE might be dead (well, news wise), but I'm still alive. Hi Able_Baker. :)

I personally credit PC Gamer with getting this game on my radar.

Brockway got me drooling about this game since four days after the kickstarter ended.

He got the developer wrong, but that's only because Notch is also making a space game (who names a game "0x10^c"? Word of mouth is terrible if you can't pronounce it!).

They have a lot of news about Linux games, and had a post about this one.

I can't really remember exactly how I came across FTL, but I think it was either Notch or Penny Arcade mentioning the Kickstarter. FTL was the first Kickstarter project I ever backed (backed a few more since then). :)
