Was wondering if you'd comment ;)

Here's another go at old/rust:

That second take on it does look much better, but again, the way the texture is applied appears to be different on each frame. Not quite sure how one would go about fixing that up..

The new rust colors looks MUCH better, but as slowy said, each sprite has a different set of rust.

Continue doing good work otherwise! Maybe try a golden color scheme?

Maybe it's just falling apart while shotting, due to all that rust, thus it looks change? ;)

Seriously though - overall - awesome work with those weapons and blasts. I just got an idea that crew-damaging blasts could contain particle "debris" on them, at least for rockets and bombs, indicating anti-crew shards. No idea how it would look when applied in reality, though.

As for "bright core" things, I would rather associate them with shield piercing, not possibility of hull breach. Maybe it could work ok for both cases? Or, hull-breaching things could got equally opposite, solid *dark* core?

Those violet weapons are indeed very sluggish, and, for some reasons, they would nicely fit with crew-damaging "sicky" blasts, IMO.

Cheers,

The new rusty look is very nice. I barely notice any inconsistency, but it probably needs to be entirely consistent.

The slug looking weapons may be good for system disruption/damage as well because slugs always hack you.

Success! Found a consistent pixel texture. See for yourself:

As for the suggested golden theme:

I'm the programmer writing the procedural weapons generator ;)
I am too, in a way, but I'm planning on using it for my own purposes- eh, I'm just not a big fan of CE. Not even sure why, honestly.

Sleepy seemed very happy with the tool I built. EN, If your willing to wait a bit, I plan to release the tool to the FTL mod community, and maybe even to other game modders.
This will be a solid working release + user guide, since the tool is currently still a WIP prototype.

Interesting. I look forward to it; for the moment I'll use the magic of Excel Formulae.

EPIC, that rust texture is done. It looks really good.

The golden weapons look good too! I really like the gleam. Perhaps it be a bit more golden though, just to distinguish it from any yellow weapons.
