The engi sighed. "I don't know who gave you those two items, it wasn't me. I only know why." He stayed silent for a long time, clearly troubled by something. "Douglas told me once about the claw and gun and how his grandfather passed it down to him when he passed away, like a family airloom. He told me that he would do the same with his eldest child." The engi stopped the sentence there, not wanting to talk about Douglas anymore.

"Passed away?" Lux asked "My grandfather and the Red-Tail went missing before the war broke out... he didn't just pass away"
She air-quoted the last two words "I mean Admiral Tully is older than him."
She sighed and looked to the ground "Rumour has it that the Rebellion killed my grandfather because he knew about their plans and was silenced... others say he was captured by the legendary Mantis thief Kazaaak."
She looked at the claw blade "I'm inclined to think that considering this weapon does come from an old Mantis..."

Federation medical technology probably makes 100 the new 50, so Lux's grandfather would still be capable of being a badass; he's just retired.

"Douglas didn't go into details about his grandfather, that's just what he said." the engi replied. "But he is presumed dead according to most Federation databanks, he hasn't been seen in a couple of years."

"Which why I think he's still alive" Lux said "If he was dead, the Federation or the Rebellion would have mentioned it; he is whom Captain Awesome is based on after all."
She then looked to the Engi "What is your designation anyway? Here I am talking about family to a stranger... my father served with many Engies after all. There was Two-Zar, Metfel, Notch, Elnubnub..."

"It's, complicated." Kira replied. "On the day Bren thought I died, a Federation undercover officer helped me escape. I managed to be rescued by a zoltan scout. Eventually we ran into the Great Eye. That was the day I forgot everything. I looked into the great eye, my memory was wiped and I blacked out." She continued. "I woke up in a station with a lone engi. Neither of us knew anything. Eventually Gonag came, looked into my mind and found my psychic power. Bren eventually ventured into the station and he cause my memory to come back."

“Wow sounds like you’ve had an interesting life so far. So... how does your whole psychic power thing work? Is it like a slug or do you have to be touching them? Or something else? And how much does it normally tell you?”

"According to Gonag my designation is King." He then realised that what he said was extremely suspicious so he explained. "Similar to Kira, I have forgotten most of my life. When I met Gonag, he read the minds of Kira and I to try and reveal out pasts. The only information in my mind was my designation, King." He continued, "I still have snipits of my past. I remember serving your father, although that's very unclear. I also remember a ship name The Vortex, that's the only information of that. I might as well be a stranger to you."

“Wow sounds like you’ve had an interesting life so far. So... how does your whole psychic power thing work? Is it like a slug or do you have to be touching them? Or something else? And how much does it normally tell you?”

"It varies. When the Scarab docked I instantly had visions of almost every crew member of this fleet, um well visions of your pasts." She said that last bit very shakily, obviously lying. "Well, how I normally do it is that I hold this amulet around my neck, have a piece of paper in front of me and a pencil ready to draw. Then, the person who want their fortune will talk about their life. Eventually something they say will trigger my powers and I will draw a picture relating to the future and what they were talking about. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't."

Lux laughed at the mention of the Vortex. "My father did tell me that Vortex Class Cruisers were not the finest of Engi ships and were prone to having the pilots go the equivalent of insanity from the isolation..."

Hi guys.

Really sorry for my absence this week, I had midterms to study for and complete. (Midterms are HORRIBLE! ) Anyways, they're over now.

So this is alot of new stuff to read through for me, and I'll read through it tomorrow. (And post!)

EDIT:

Just read through it. To summarize:

1. We are at a secret slug station, and all of our ships are under repair. (Does this include the Mature? Does the station have the capability to repair the Mature's reactor?)

2. Some slugs are helping with repairs and everyone is talking about random stuff while fixing stuff.

3. Jake is unconscious still (but not for long!)

Is that everything? Please let me know if I missed anything important!!! Also, one more question: WTF is the last post? (The post right above this one) As in, who is "talking" or doing whatever in that post? Or is this an intro to a new character? Or is this some computer terminal elsewhere?
