"Canonically" that's why there's an Engi aboard as well as the two Crystals. :lol:

I LOVED that ship. Just finished an EASY playthrough with it. Max shields, lvl 2 cloak, a defense drone I, Hull Laser/Hull Beam and Pike Beam. AND 2x Re-Loader + Stasis Pod that I couldn't find the damned Zoltans! That pretty much explains enough:

I liked that it replaces the Engi B - what a shitty ship. Should be thrown in a vortex. :mrgreen:
Could you make another ship, one that replaces the Rock A, perhaps?

I really liked this ship. Killer visual, dark purple shields, nice crew, and the weapons...
... they are very good but not overpowered as I initially though.. On sectors 1-3 I used the Pulse Disruptor to finish ships, then I got a Pike Beam. Then I saved enough scrap to upgrade wep system 'til I had Pulse + Singularity + Pike Beam (also managed to get a Hull Beam). So I used Singularity to destroy enemy's shield, then turned it off and fired a volley of shots at the weapons system. Sweet! :mrgreen:
The Singularity is very good, maybe for balancing purposes it should consume 1 missile? Maybe not, as it has a very long cooldown; if you miss you are fucked up. :|

To me, 10/10 :ugeek:

Just finished a playthrough with the Obsidian Cruiser, which I'll be linking to in my thread.

I have to say, this ship was an absolute blast to play with. Took a bit of effort to get things moving, but once we were underway it was fun wreaking havoc upon our enemies. >:D

I didn't realize how big it was until I actually had it in my game though. :P

Anyhow, thanks for making this for us, and good luck with your Incursion mod! The music you've made for it sounds fantastic, and the visuals look great too. Really excited to see how it evolves.

I just thought that an improved breach bomb mark II (with added +1 dmg to system/personnel plus dmg +1 to hull) with unlimited ammo in a ship with 2 crystal guys, a 4-pad tp, 3-slots drone bay and 4-slots weapon system was a little over the top.

Regardless, I had loads of fun mowing through the enemy ships.

I'm glad you had fun with it, that's what really counts. :D
And while I wouldn't say "bad manners," you might notice quite a few posts suggesting to dial back this or that because "OMG this ship feel so OP." It... does get a little old after a while.

Honestly, the intent was to provide a ship you could do anything with - "All strategies viable."
Prefer boarding? You've got a 4-pad TP right near the medbay for easy access. Prefer weapons? Four slots, with some heavy hitters right out of the gate. Rather use drones? Well it is the successor to the Vortex after all. Drone away. The Crystal B provided most of the inspiration, since it's by far my favorite of the default ships (putting aside the lack of Pew Pew).
