:roll: It's already an .FTL file. I just packed it inside a .RAR so that I could include a proper README.TXT with the download. Just extract the .FTL to your /mods folder and install as normal.

I can't seem to figure it out, I don't have an extract option

Hm. Probably don't have WinRAR installed then, which means you need this link. Stuff like WinRAR or 7zip are basics for most modding, but I have perhaps wrongly assumed everyone using these mods would likewise have them. I'll see about stuffing the README into the .FTL itself, in the next update.

ok now I got it, rename the file to an FTL one, ok, I'll make the lets play and post it here

Obsidian Cruiser v1.2.2 Update

I'm glad you got it working! Sorry the download gave you trouble, I've updated to fix some minor issues.

In the mean time, the update is as follows.
  • Version 1.2.2
  • Removed .RAR file "wrapper," Readme file is now located in the .FTL itself. This will give an error message when GMM goes to patch, but will not prevent the mod from installing properly. Just consider it a notification that the readme is there. ;)
    Balance Tweaks
  • -Swapped "Advanced Hull Armor" for "Rock Armor" augment, since Adv. Hull apparently had no effect.
  • -Increased Singularity Projector base damage to 1. Removing it entirely ended up turning this ship-killer into strictly an antipersonnel weapon, which was never the intent.
  • -Shortened the "Short Name" on the Pulse Disruptor a little more. "P.Dsrpt I" should fit better in the weapons tray now.
    Graphical Tweaks
  • -Adjusted gibs for proper red-hue outline.
  • -Fixed shading issue on #6 Gib
  • -Fixed "White Outline" issue on ship during jumps. I had fixed this one before, but an older-version _base.png managed to sneak back into the mod. Hopefully I've corrected this one for good, now.
Again I'll mention that I've basically given up hope of completing those "custom interiors," so if anyone's decent with spritework, they're welcome to give it a shot themselves, for which full credit would be given.

That's fine. I'm just glad you enjoyed the mod. I'm really liking this "Let's Play," gotten more than a couple chuckles out of it. In fact, I do believe I'll update the OP with it as the "Gameplay" video, since it seems unlikely I'll get around to doing one of my own anytime soon. ;)
A few crib-notes though:
-Yep, the Shield image is custom, as is the pilot's room (not that it's very noticeable).
-The ship is viewed from the top, it's just very asymetrical, since it started out as an attempt to mimic the Crystal cruiser style.
-The reason the SP was bumped back up to 1 was because it was too easy to kill off entire crews and leave the enemy's hull undamaged.
-Since the SP is 'bomb-type', you can target yourself with it. It's just not something I felt needed to be included in the tooltip.
-You probably do want to update anyway, since "Advanced Hull" augment is useless. I restored it from unused code, but it doesn't seem to have an effect on actual gameplay, making it dead weight. Or good for some free scrap if you sell it off at the first store.

Ok you want a game play video...how bout this, I download the mod, I put up another video, You put guys to me, I put guys to your mods. We both benefit, *extends hand* Deal?
