I agree :)
Screw saving the federation, perhaps the rebels are rebelling because the Federation is a bunch of jerks =:P
I'd like to just explore, meet other NPCS,go on adventure, and just survive. I like the idea of just taking other ships and gathering allies, mabey even factions that you can make allies/foes of (Example:You can become friends with the rebels but the Federation will become your foe)

I played another indie game a while a back called S.P.A.Z. ( space pirates and zombies) and the map was asically a giant procedurally generated universe with up to 300 systems with each system having 5 or 6 locations to explore and i think that if that could be integrated into ftl it would work very well especially with all the random event and encounters you experience in ftl.
although it would change the style of the game making it less arcade like and giving much longer playthroughs

Just thinking about it, a ships log should be automatically generated so you can look back and write your story in detail if you wanted to. Easy bullet points like:
- Travelled to this sector
- Encountered this enemy
- Bad guys bordered
- Lost engines to missile
- Bad guys kill crewmate in oxygen room
- Killed bad guys
Something like that.

A lot of these posts are great ideas that I hope someday are implemented in a patch or full on expansion.

I'd love if in the future there would also be possibility to interact in events. For example when you can send your crew to put down a fire in some ship, you would actually have to go and do it, not just hope that the dice favors you.


Also, a skill for putting down fires.
