It seems like combat drones could potentially screw up this achievement, powered or not. I've fixed that now, but I'm curious if those of you that experienced the bug had drones at the time? Or if you did not, can you be more specific about your exact load-outs?

I've failed it with and without drones. I've certainly failed both with and without having offensive drones, same with defensive drones, failed both with and without. The time I finally got the achievement I had on purpose unequiped all non-missile weapons and all drones.
Weapons I've had while failing:
Artemis
Hull Missiles
Breach Missiles
Pegasus Missiles
Non-active, but equiped:
Ion blaster
Ion blaster 2
Burst laser 2
Hull smasher laser 2
Fire bomb
Probably more I don't remember. It doesn't seem to help having them powered off the entire fight(including jumping to the encounter with them powered off).
