Because AMD dropped the support, the drivers don't fully support OpenGL 2.0 which is required by the game.

As I mentioned in the early post, the card might still support the game but you would need a different OS. I have no problems running it in Ubuntu Linux, and I'm curious, snakehips, if it functions within OS X on your macbook?

It goes without saying that that's not exactly a satisfactory solution, and it really boils down to that you're probably unable to run the game. I'd be happy to provide a refund immediately if you purchased it from our website, but you might need to contact Steam or GOG if you purchased it from them.

I'm terribly sorry about this. There's always the off chance that someone does know of a workaround out there that I'm not aware of, and I will definitely look into it further!

A refund is not necessary for my part, the game is still playable and the graphic problems are only minor in my opinion.
Playing it under linux would be great, unfortunately i bought the game via GOG and therefore, I only have access to the windows version (I didn't realize there were a linux version when i first saw it on GOG).

However, according to the gog forums, there are other players who would appreciate the linux version. Maybe you could talk to GOG so they provide the linux version, too?

No refund necessary here either. I still enjoy playing it, and let's be honest: we didn't get this for the awesome graphics in the first place. I'll try giving it a go under mac os.

I am having a very similar issue. I'm running a AMD Radeon 6900M card and the game fails to launch. What happens is the video driver crashes and the game window never responds. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

Hey Matthew,

I just wanted to ask if you can fix this issue at all for the people whose card doesn't support OpenGL 2.0?
Could you make it backwards compatible or whatever else you can do to make it work? It's not a game breaking issue but it would be nice to be able to enjoy the game to its fullest.

Cheers

Sorry snakehips. We built the game with the expectation of at least OpenGL 2.0 which was why it's been in our System Reqs since the Kickstarter. We're very unlikely to drop that requirement :( Did you try it on your Mac?

Yes I did. The graphics were fine there but the performance was absolutely atrocious for some reason. It lagged hard to the point of being unplayable with about 3-5 fps. Well I guess it's time to invest into a new pc...

Out of interest, is the corruption being caused by a non-ogl2.0 compliant texture clamping implementation in the drivers?

I too have full support for OpenGL (2.1 actually, tested with OpenGL extensions viewer, 100% 2.1 support) and am experiencing the same problem. :?
So it must be something else.

This is in the log:
Initializing Video
Video Initialized
Opengl version = 2.1.8545 Release
Starting audio library...
Audio Initialized!

Until (everything else is loading fine)

Loading score file...
Running Game!
