Flagship phase 2 will quickly waste all of its drone parts on boarding drones if you have a defense drone that shoots them all down. Then you can shoot down the anti-ship drones without them being replaced.

...Which still doesn't protect you from power surges afaik. And I always had trouble getting the boarding drones down, I just went for the drone bay.

I find the best tactic to deal with boarding party's and fires to deflate all rooms I don't occupy from all air.So I fight and Fly with my Cargo Doors open.
As soon as I get boarderd I close all doors and shut down the O2.So the airless room wont refill.
Most time the board without sensor or maybe its random what room they teleport because 8/10 times the jump into a empty room with no equipment or AIR
And its still possible to move you're crew between those airless rooms , Just put O2 on again, it will filled instant with enough air that you wont take damage.

Some hypothetical (I don't remember with 100% sure the first one's veracity, and onestly don't know about the second one) tactics:
Medium: Ion desynch. II recall that if a ionized system gets hit by another ion weapon, then the ion recovery timer from any already present ion damage will reset as well. This means that, should you happen to get two ion weapons (better if they're the same model), then a more tactical approach is to put a half cooldown bar delay between each one when shooting. This should relentlessly take down the enemy shield, layer after layer.
Advanced: Tactical decloaking: I don't know if the flasghip overcharge cooldown timer keeps going while you're cloaked. Maybe yes, maybe no. If it does, and you cloak to evade it, AND you have all your weapons fully charged, then it''d be best if you shot just as the overcharge ends, since that'll end your cloak earlier (unless you have stealth weapons), giving it more time to recover until for the next overcharge.
