Nice UI work! (I am woundering if allowing the station to have 5 shields and doing the UI for that would be okay- considering the station got no practical dodge I think it can be fair...)

Just remember that 5-shield bubble for player breaks asteroid fields - if that still exist for stations job.

It does? I think I've flown with 5-layers+ of shield into asteroid fields before and not encountered problems.

Now, arriving into an asteroid field without a combat event on the other hand, that turns them into a desperate fight for survival as you are bombarded constantly and with only brief windows of mercy that you better hope that your engines are still working.

Last time I checked, shields lvl 10 on player resulted in bug with asteroid field, that resulted in asteroids bombarding at astronomical (pun intended) rate, i.e. so many of them, that no amount of shield would be able to stop it.

But, last time I checked was pre-AE, so something might have changed, meanwhile.

I think that was pre-AE. Or maybe just an FTL legend. Because astronomical bombardment does happen if you don't have any combat when entering an asteroid field.

I can agree- extremee rate of asteroids have occured to me earlier when I got an asteroid field with no combat (no mods)

I don't think that's possible. There's always combat at Asteroid Fields in Vanilla.

Yeah, the idea is good until You get in to an asteroid field.

This is what happens in the asteroid field after just five seconds. In a minute or two the station got destroyed and that's without any combat.

Sure, It doesn't always end like that, but its pretty dangerous, especially since you can't avoid much due to weak engines.

And don't ask about the two cursors...
