Hi All,
First post here. Unfortunately though, it's due to a display glitch.
Just today the game began displaying oddly. I've tried restarting it several times without success and each display issue seems to be slightly different. Some times visual pieces of the game are missing (can't see buttons) or other times there's visual "hash" to mess things up. Sometimes there's flashing. It's just a random mess. Below is a screen shot of one such event. Any ideas what's up?

Re: Display issues
Have you modded the game, now or in the past?
Can you try installing the game in a different directory, and run it there? (Make sure you go to the new directory and launch FTL from there. Do not use shortcuts or start menu entries.)

Re: Display issues
Hi hepcat. I'm sorry about this problem... it's actually something that I haven't seen yet! It appears that the wrong images in memory are being accessed and drawn, which could result in the odd effects like the repeated teleporter pads over the ship in your screenshot. Three culprits that I could think of:
1) Likely - Your video drivers. Try uninstalling the ones you've got and reinstall the most up to date. If you shoot me a dxdiag dump (zasdarq@ftlgame.com) then I can help you find the most up to date.
2) Possible - Corrupt game installation. Uninstall / reinstall the game, making sure to re-download it fresh. If you're using Steam, try "Verifying the Game Cache"
3) Less likely - Something wrong with your memory. Windows has a "Memory Diagnostic Tool" you can run to test it, or you can use memtest86 which is quite popular but requires a bit more work to get running.. so try whichever you're more comfortable with.
Let me know how those go. Very odd problem.

Re: Display issues
The issue seems to have disappeared. Hasn't happened in several days. Coujld you verify what the most recent version of the game is?
