[SOLVED] FTL crashes immediately on starting

Running on Win7 (64 bit).

Have this as an error message:

No settings file found!
Initializing Video
Video Initialized
GL_ARB_framebuffer_object not supported.
Opengl version = 2.1.2
File or path name not found
Error opening resource file
File or path name not found
Error opening resource file
Starting audio library...
Audio Initialized!
File or path name not found
Error opening resource file
Resource Loading Failure (or voluntary quit)!

Would appreciate any help!

Can you check your FTL installation folder for the sub-folder "resources" and see if it's empty? Try re-installing FTL and make sure you have read/write permission to the installation folder?

It does have resource.dat and data.dat in there.

When I start it normally it won't display the picture but there is sound.

When I try and run it under Windows XP/2000/Vista using the incompatible program thing in the control panel it just starts and immediately crashes.

Have tried to reinstall and even reinstalled it in a separate location.

Kept looking around at other reports of problems etc. and tried a whole bunch of things to see what happened.

Added this to the setting.ini file:

manual=1
screen_x=1440
screen_y=900
windowed=0
stretched=1

And it's working.
