ftldat isn't working for me, is there a way I can get the already-unpacked data.dat and resources.dat?

why not try my FTL Dat Manager instead?

P.S. - No one will give out copys of already unpacked .dat files as they would violate copyright. etc....

Try using GMM directly (I've been modding for a while, and never actually used standalone FTLDat).
