Homeworlds?

Postby Johnner » Fri Dec 21, 2012 3:32 pm

Dumb question but I'm confused on what and where the various homeworlds are? How do I know which is a homeworld?

You can only know by being one jump away, but remember that engie/zoltan=green, rock/mantis=red and slugs=purple.

Do I need a certain level of sensors on my ship? Will it say Homeworld when hovering over the marker? Thanks!!

When you have the opportunity to jump to a homeworld, the sector node will say "Mantis / Zoltan / Engi Homeworlds" instead of "Controlled Sector."
You don't need any upgrades on sensors (or any at all, really) for it to tell you so.

Homeworlds are sectors. when you reach an exit beacon, you fly to a new sector (a choice between two option, or sometimes only one option). Sometimes, these sectors are homeworlds.
Whenever you choose to fly to a new sector, you see the sector map, so you know the location of the green, red and purple sectors. You can plan your route to maximize the chance of encountering a certain homeworld by choosing your path carefully, but you can never know for certain what you'll end up with.
