"I don't see how wearing a pirate hat is going to get you hit harder by the Federation any more than you already have done via your actions" Tabitha remarked snidely.

"As for briefing, I'm only an Ensign. No organisation is going to tell you about special operations as soon as you leave the Academy. Everything's Need-To-Know and they saw-fit that I didn't need to know."

"Well then... story-time with a genocidal maniac AI. I hope you're proud of what you've done with your life. About a standard space year ago, this war was of revolutionary proportions. The - then massive - rebel fleet was closing in on the fed's final cruiser fleet. which was desperately protecting the main fed base. For a while, it looked like the rebels were going to win and take over the galaxy. Then... they found this rebel ship. This die-hard, lead-them-all, rebel mega-ship. Or, as I coined while I was outrunning and killing a rebel squadron when I was still in use out of my imprisonment, the rebel flagship. The feds knew this was their one and only chance to take back the war, as without this ship, the rebel fleet would collapse into chaos leading for an easy victory of historic proportions. They succeeded in destroying the flagship and evaporating a majority of the rebel fleet, but unbeknownst to the feds, they had a beta type of another mega-ship ready for action. They launched it and pushed the feds back to their home base. Now they have a tiny fleet left and the feds have a tiny fleet left. That's where we come in. Move through 10 sectors of war-torn land and loot the best we can before we face off the rest of the fleet. Get them to surrender through any means necessary and we'll go down as heroes. Except for me, who they will attempt to suppress, hide, and kill. I'll just go on my merry way once this is all done, in fact. Not even return to the fed base. Trust me, you'll have plenty of escort. And if they ask where the A.I. went on your walk of fame back to the base... just say he went off to do something fun. I can't tell you my plans for this. Not because they're classified. It's just because it'll completely destroy your enthusiasm to continue with the mission, which is what needs to happen."

"Magister"
"Salve. Quid tibi?"
"Nihil me movet. ... Est simpliciter aliquid quod sentio naturam."
"O?"
"Im 'non certus quam factum est. Omnia denique Atdlt ... usque ad me et dixit Atdlt ... sentire naturam."
"Mane. Verba tene. Atdlt ad te?"
"Etiam. Et paulo post nostrum est."
"Non ... non potest ..."
"Quid est?"
"Audite. Ad principes Templarii simul. Dico et aliorum."
"Ut vis."
"Hoc certe perturbabant. Et turbatur, et ineat mecum singulare Conduit invocare ..."
"Aquaeductus se, hoc est, res tristes?"
"... Spero non."
I do random stuff and surf on the fourms. That's about it.

"Oh that mission. The one we are currently on" Tabitha said "I thought you were referring to another mission, like suddenly you were going to spout on us a mission where you'll destroy the Federation from the inside and we'll have to go along with it because you're carrying a thermal detonator..."
She laughed, although rather nervously. "So that means you'll not be trying to piss off the Federation more than you already have and let us go complete the mission, Captain?"

"Oh no! Trust me, the feds already had everything they could put on me on me since I committed my 26th mass genocide on.. Tuesday? Or was that Monday? Eh, only 2 planets wiped. Easy to forget things like that. Anyways, I have a scheme of my own to do that and it's a lot more fun that just undermining the feds. I have years and years of imprisonment to repay, just know that. Spin the FTL. We're getting out of this sector. 2 jumps away from the exit!"

Oh, damn. It's been a year since the flagship battle? This kinda undermines the timeline I had in my head, which was that it had been quite recent and that the Feds and the rebels were making a mad dash to the fed base. Hmm, now that I look at it, I guess I have a lot more stuff that I might need to know...

No worries! You just need to show up in the story. I can edit that post, if neccesary.

Tabitha jumped the ship to the next beacon. No doubt there would be some pirate, slaver or bandit or pirate slaver bandit waiting for them.
Or maybe it was a station full of giant alien spiders. That was no joke either.

"And there is.. Nothing..? My sensors are literally saying nothing. Not even a sun or a planet. No ships, either. Just.. nothing. Oh, now we get readings? Come on, radar. I got you for a reason. We have a station. It looks like it's just a civilian commute center. Nothing much. Well, I don't even think there's anything to buy that we need, but if you want to go in and grab a drink or something, you can, just please don't get in another bar fight. I'll be wheeling in with my repair drone. Just stay as far away from it as possible if you don't want strange looks."

Quintet powered up his drone, grabbed a working plasma welder, and wheeled onto the station. It was full of people, from those behind stands selling ship parts and other items to those recruiting people for a mission on their shiny new ship. It was noticeable that, in a corner, it seemed there was a door to a small hangout. Quintet, using the A.I. on the ship, hacked into the cameras to see it was a hub of rebel supporters, even a few retired soldiers, who had turned a regular hangout into a rebel hub.

"And don't follow the drone.. I have things to take care of."
