FTL now hanging on OS X

I've played FTL for years now, through many different upgrades and incarnations of OS X, and it has always been rock solid stable. Lately, over the past 2 weeks, I've seen it hang/crash twice. I am always current on the latest versions from Apple, which means the first crash was under Yosemite and the latest crash was on El Capitan. Anyone else having this problem?
