[Bug] Mac OS X Sound cutting in and out

Hi there,
I have been having this issue for sometime now (going back to last year). Anyway I have a Late 2009 Macbook and anytime I play FTL I have to mute the game due to the soundtrack cutting out every few seconds. Its a random interval but really annoying because the soundtrack is part of the experience.
From testing it, only the soundtrack cuts in and out, not the game sounds (jumping, attacking, doors etc) They all work fine and can be heard while the soundtrack skips.
Lets try and resolve this
