Luckiest start ever.

I start up a run on normal using Crystal A. First beacon I jump to, he offers a scrap recovery arm for surrender. Jump to a second beacon and it's an automated ship. I destroy it, and in the wreckage I get an ion blast (mark 1). Jump to a third beacon, and its the "do you want to search the wreckage in this plasma storm" event. I decide to risk it, and it gives me a burst laser mark II. Anyone else get ever get so much good fortune right off the bat?

Wow, just finished the run. I got 3 more weapons the next sector including pegasus missile and ion bomb (which I used with the burst laser and crystal burst), managed to buy all the systems and a weapon pre-igniter by sector 4, and it kept throwing several more free weapons at me over the course of the game. I ended with a new high score of over 5000, and it said I had 16 crew hired, and I even got to go to the crystal sector and repeated the slug ship unlock quest. I think I reached max power in sector 6.

That's some seriously good luck. A score of 5000 is great, my personal best was 5200 and that was with three scrap recovery arms and a boarding ship. To get 5000 with a "normal" ship like Crystal A is incredible.

Well I did buy a teleporter in sector 2.
