Go and play the game and try to get four people into a med bay on one of those ships. You may have trouble on account of the room only having 3 slots a person can stand in, the computer console in that room takes up the other tile.

your making this achievement look harder than it seems...

the trick to it is venting. The time it takes to enemy units to reach whichever room u placed your crew in will cost them HP, assuming you keep the external door open until they reach the room you want to fight in. You can also place your crew in 2 adjacent rooms and switch them when they are low on hp.

At this point you want to target your weapons on the enemy teleporter just to be sure you get to kill of the boarding party. missiles help get this job done faster.

also im not sure but in medbays i think enemy crew can reach up to 4. being outnumbered in a medbay isnt really an issue.

still all you really need to do is venting

This will usually also save most systems from being destroyed from the boarding party, as they will stop attacking whatever it is they were attacking and go look for a room with oxygen.

crystal people special ability also helps, you can get this acheivement while attacking/boarding. Just port to a 4 square weapons bay and if the enemy gets 4 crew in it you can lock them inside with lockdown. a good setup for this is 2 crystal people 1 mantis and 1 rockman. the crystal to have 2 lockdowns, the mantis to do damage and the rockman to tank. Remember than even if the room is locked, you can tell your crew to move to another room. This will promt them try and destroy/open doors, taking them out of battle and allowing you to keep them alive.

the kestrel(mode A) has a 4 room medbay
so does the Red-tail , Nesasio,the gila monster, the basilisk, the torus, the osprey, man of war, (not sure about stormwalker), bulwark, shivan, the adjudicator, Noether, Bravis and the Carnelian ALL have 4 room medbays from start.

ON 18 ships in total 14 have a 4 room medbay from start .. y

this was an answer to undergroundmonorail answering myu post. notice: my post does not mention 4 persons medbays, i usually reason in squares. but thats rather uninteresting.

your not very good at reading are you? the OP already has the crystal ship A, meaning he has a crew of 2 crystal men and 2 humans on it. but whatevvaaa dude.. lol
ALSO: the entire reason the dude is doing this is to unlock crystal ship B. the achievement he wants is:

No escape: Trap 4 enemy crewman using the crystal being's lockdown ability or a lockdown bomb

I have never seen a lockdown bomb, but I used by crystal being's lockdown ability to get this achievement. Its hard having 4 people in the same room, but you should find instances that have boarders. These are usually common in Pirate controlled sectors. Once you have 4 boarders, send your crystal into the room that they are in, and use the lockdown ability by pressing the lockdown button next to the crystal's name.

@ OP. if this is the case, note that you are NOT required to kill the 4 crew, but just trap 4 in one room. use pause to help u use the lockdown skill.
Also, note that from the advice given in the quote above it helps to have advanced scanners to know how many crew members are on board the enemy ship and where they are (u just need level 2)

@ OP:

A good way around this is to shoot the enemy medbay with missiles or ion cannons. this usually forces the AI to send all crew against you. you just need to keep targeting the medbay with ion cannons for example, this will prevent injured crew members from leaving combat. Ion cannons are preferable, because the damage cannot be fixed, meaning that the AI cannot deploy some1 to fix it, increasing the chances of having all crew engaged in combat.


besides i just tried and managed to kill 4 crew on the enemy ship in sector 2. So you can find enemies with at least 4 already in sector 2, allowing you to reset the game soon if things are going bad.

having lockdown and using it twice will help you prevent the crew from going to med bay.

another good way of going for this is trying to go to beacons that are close to dead stars (u know..), some of these events are "only boarders" and are often above 3 crew members. You need to vent your ship to oblige the attacking force to go to one room.

I am very good at reading and understanding, thank you. However you certainly never do that, neither think before you post.
My point is: it's absolutely mandatory to have a lockdown, "helpful" implies optionality.

Well, there is a point in your thinking: one CAN lure 4 enemies into own 3-ppl medbay. It's too bad that your offensive style of writing shifts the conversation to personal insults.

how is it relevant that lockdown is either mandatory or optional when the OP is saying he is using crystal ship A (which has 2 crystal men)

A) in your first post you were claiming that is was impossible to use lockdown if u dont have crystal men.

B) The Op says he is using crystal ship A in the opening post of the thread

C) I told you you dont read properly

as for being offensive, i marely state my opinion, you are the one who enjoys answering (i assume willingly silly answers to provoke) me in different threads regardless of what is being said.. but again.. whatever dude..

I got it when a boarding event happened to send 4 guys into the same room I had a crystal guy. It cost me the crew member though.
