The screenshot with "Most ship defeated = 309". How could that happen?

Did the player fought 3 ships per jump? (103 jumps in a session)

It wasn't 103 jumps, it was 103 beacons explored. All the extra kills came from jumping back to previously explored beacons to fight in areas where the rebels had caught up.

For some reason 2 of my highest scores are with the Noether (Zoltan B) that I didn't even complete the game with. I failed both runs near the end due to trying to get the 29 power achievement.

So I guess killing the boss doesn't give all that many points.

5267 with the Red-Tail is my #1

My best score was a paltry 3560 with the Torus ship.
I tend to play as a bit of a pacifist letting too many people surrender and running away to preserve drone parts/missiles.
And my least violent play through to date was the only one i've won the game on I didn't get a second weapon or drone until sector 4. And weirdly none of my crew records belong to that engi ship they're another play-through with a Bravais.

4023 on Normal with the Torus, died at the boss.
3800 on Normal with the Torus, beat the game.

My new highest is roughly 5500 with the rock B, that ship is just amazing.

I remember reading one post here at some point suggesting that getting the lowest possible score while still winning is the most impressive thing, and I'm inclined to agree with it. The score has a very strong correlation with scrap collected, and winning with less upgrades/purchases would logically indicate a more skilled performance. Although it also would have a good bit to do with luck, now that I think about it. Regardless, I know anytime I haven't had enough to buy large amounts of shielding and engines, that I've had a pretty rough boss run. Being able to counter that sort of disadvantage, even with the help of luck should be commended.

Sounds like an achievement! Beat the boss with less than **** points earned. What should be the minimum you think is realistic? Is it possible to get less than 3000 without winning?

Trying to avoid a good score would take some fun away though, but would be a nice challenge.

Look carefully, 309 ships defeated. my standard run with score 4500-5000 usually end with 36-43 ships defeated.
309 is near 9 times of that.So the player just "wait"at the last beacon and keep slaughter rebel to push score up?

No need to wait. You get one fuel for every rebel ship, so you can just keep jumping back and forth and fighting til you get bored.

Now if that gives points it's kind of cheesy... the encounters were clearly not meant to award you anything (presumably as a deterrent to fighting them).

sticking around in each sector to fight 309 ships is clearly a waste of time if you are looking to boost your score: you get 20 points for each ship, 10 points for each "previously unexplored" beacon (going back to a beacon or a beacon the rebels have captured doesn't add to your score) and 1 point for each point of scrap. Then the 1.25 multiplier comes in if you are playing on normal.

So, even on easy, 309 ships x 20 points would have been worth 6180 on its own, or 7725 on normal. As the total score was a bit over 6000, clearly it made no difference. Heck, coulda played 3 full games in the time this one game took!
