Re: Transporter
I *think* they must be in the same room to be able to teleported back. I am not sure though, as I am not a huge fan of the teleporter.
Better luck next time

Re: Transporter
Are you clicking the BOTTOM icon then the crew on the enemy vessel (they have to be in the same room)?

Re: Transporter
Make sure your transporter isn't still overloaded from sending them over in the first place; most of the time your troops will either be victorious or dead by the time you've got the system up and running again, unless you fully upgrade and power the system.

The back button isn't an automatic crew recall. you need to push it and then target the room your crew is in.
Also your crew needs to stand in the middle of their square in the room. You can't teleport them bcak if they are moving through the room or attacking an upgraded door.

Re: Transporter
Every time I transport crew I lose them... so I've given up using it entirely.

why do you lose them? do they die to the defenders? do you fire on them with your own weapons? do they die because you didn't read my post directly above yours nd can't figure out how to get them back?

Re: Transporter
Some tips on using a transporter:
-Teleport into small rooms in order not to get overwhelmed
-Destroy the med bay first (can often be a good place to TP into once destroyed)
-Don't use it in an asteroid field or near a sun (solar flares) the 'random' damage can destroy a ship when you don't expect it

Re: Transporter
I've only played a few games, and never gotten a transporter so far.
I'm curious about them though...so far it seems like out of everything on my ship, the crew are my most valuable and most vulnerable resource. Systems and hull can be repaired. Fuel and missiles are commodities. Weapons/augments/etc, seemingly cannot be destroyed in battle, only sold. But your crew are very vulnerable and potentially *very* hard to replace, especially if they have lots of experience.
Sending them to an enemy ship seems like a big risk...are there suitably cool rewards if you do manage to eliminate the enemy crew and take control of a second vessel? Do you get tons more scrap than if you just blew it up, or do you get your choice of taking whatever systems or weapons that ship has?

It sometimes feels like 1-2 more missiles/fuel/drone parts and something between x1 1/2 to x2 more parts.
I also had 2 mantis crewman the last playthrough... they kicked some serious a**.
They easily killed 4 crewman without sweating... if mantis can sweat.
Okay, they were elite close combat veterans... but still... awesome stuff.
They were like: "Oh look an Engi engineer." <bites> "nomnom"
