Scrap Yield Algorithm

As far as scrap yield is concerned, if you do not damage a ship, do you gain more scrap than you would if you damaged it to win the battle? That would make a strong case for ion weaponry over blaster and beams, with teleport somewhere in between.

As far as I can tell, no. It just coutns whether you killed the ship or the crew, then randomizes.

Thanks for the lookup. If it had been the case, it would have been great with that little extra scrap yield, because a lot of times I end up at the store with just 1-2 scrap short of a vital system/weapon/crew member and must make an equipment sacrifice.
