strange thing I've noticed with the spiders and the infection. The more crew members I have, the less likely I lose one. I've had both events at least a few dozen times by now (and almost always took the risk). If I have 4 or less crew, 1 ALWAYS dies, no exceptions so far. If I have 6 or more crew, nobody ever dies, also no exceptions so far. When I have 5 crew it's always a gamble.
I'm starting to think its more than luck. Would make sense though. The more crewmembers you have to help, the more likely they can beat the crap out of those spiders and control an infection.

It'd be cool if that was a factor, but unfortunately it's just a coinflip no matter how many crew you have. As you continue to try it your pattern will break.
