You memory must be be playing tricks on you. This should be impossible (any stasis pods in first sector).

Exactly.

Honestly, if you don't have anything against it...save scum. I got the capsule (which I usually do a lot), I got the crystal guy, then found the Rock Homeworld and decided now would be a good time to save, quit, and back up that save. Wouldn't have gotten it if I hadn't either, because the jump was on the one star I didn't explore.

The Stealth Ship should help increase your chances (or just buying long ranged scanners). Look up what kind of point the event you're looking for should be on and search those. IIRC, the stasis pod is on a distress beacon, while the other two events are on plain stars (ones without distress beacons OR ships).

Rock ship gets the 100% chance of a pod, while all others only 33%. Sensors are not worth is. If you save&restore, you can fully scout the sector anyway.

Might have been the second sector then. I just remember getting them right at the start of my game and getting my hopes up... then never seeing the med-scan event. :(

There's nothing wrong with being a completionist. The achievement is there, so you try to earn it. Simple as that.

Sure go ahead, try to earn it, just don't demand to make it easier.

Nothing wrong with it BUT you cant expect to tick every box easily. The whole premise of the game is based in the random generation which will yield different results each time. The premise is NOT to collect everything and get all the achievements. Therefore getting the hump when you haven't yet achieved the final, and most rare, event is irrational and nobody is to blame in that but you!

Completionists should always be prepared for a long hard slog! :D

I think (although could very easily be wrong) that the achievement for the rock ship is just getting to the crystal sector in it, not unlocking the crystal sector in it. This difference is important since I think that once you've got to the crystal sector once then in any later play through the wormhole from the rock homeworlds is still there, as long as the rock homeworlds exist at all. That would mean that you can unlock the crystal ship with any ship you like and then once its unlocked just play the rock one to get to the crystal sector through the wormhole and get the achievement. So, if you unlock the crystal ship by accident while playing a different ship its not bad.

I haven't actually done this my self though, and am basing this off something I remember someone saying somewhere... so it MIGHT be wrong, but I think its right.
