Found the coolest, clutchest interaction by accident

Hello everyone,,
I was playing a balanced random team on easy just to get achievements, and I got to a spot where I wasn't going to be able to get all the objectives unless I sacrificed my 1-health (out of 2) defense mech with a self-pull, killing the alpha vek I needed for the fifth vek kill.
Because it was an easy run, I was like "fuck it, I'll make do with the next pilot I get."
After the turn resolved tech news free netflix (it even played a dialogue line about avenging his sacrifice!) I realized my defense mech was still alive with 2 out of 4 health. So killing the alpha vek gave my defense mech enough experience to level up, and the perk just so happened to be +2 health, giving me all objectives and not killing my mech.
It's an extremely situational and high-risk interaction, but it might actually come in handy for you at some point.
