Choosing System Location?

Hello everyone! I'm greatly enjoying the game so far but one thing I'm curious about is if there's any way to choose where on your ship a system goes when you buy it. Right now I've purchased several systems and they're all clustered in random locations on the ship, making defending against heavy boarding attempts rather difficult as I have to split my crew between different parts of the ship. It seems rather counterintuitive that I can't place systems or move them around if they're already installed.

No, rooms are preassigned. The only thing you could do is mod the ships and change the locations, but they'll still be fixed.
