Getting this error, all mods disabled or enabled, before the first enemy turn (just like someone reported a while ago):

./scripts/mod_loader/altered/missions.lua:21: attempt to get length of field 'QueuedSpawns' (a nil value)
What I did: I installed Mod Loader for the first time, version 2.5.3, and 3 mods: Better Grid Def, Armored Train and Balance the Breach.

version 2.5.4, which fixes a fairly stupid bug that would cause vanilla images to not be restored, even after the mod was removed.
If you've used version 2.5.2 or 2.5.3 previously, then make sure to follow the instructions to restore vanilla resource.dat file, since the copy you have is likely corrupt, and the bug will continue to appear.
@Krzeszny - did you continue a game that had begun before you installed the mod loader? That's about the only explanation I can think of.

After I installed the mod loader, the game boots up fine, but when I press New Game or Statistics, the game crashes with the textbox:"Error: Unrecognized Exception"
In the game files, the error.txt file says

I'm using the GOG version through wine on a mac with no mods installed.
