rename the extension to .ftl

It didn't seem to work, I renamed it to "Infinite Space.FTL" and put the archive into the mods folder but it still doesn't show up.

The file you download, whether it is the original 0.5.3 in the first post or my 0.5.A3 AE update from the previous page, should already have the .ftl extension. It is just a renamed .zip file.

When i try to patch it says , Patching failed: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: MALFORMED .

It appears just redownloading the file on a different browser fixed the problem, thanks for the help anyways though!

I can't get the game to start after patching the mods into it. I keep getting this error message.

I don't know what that problem is, but I'll copy and paste a common solution here. I don't know if it will help.

Do the following:

  1. Go to SMM/backups, delete data.dat.bak and resource.dat.bak

    1. Steam users:
      Steam -> Library -> right-click on FTL -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity of Game Cache
    2. DRM-free version users:
      Reinstall FTL (remember to back up your profile!)
  2. Launch SMM to create new backups

I really like this mod but it is REALLY REALLY hard, like IMPOSSIBLY hard... I was playing on easy and on my second jump in the kestral i met a friendly pirate with 3 shields, a flack cannon a pike beam and some for of super missle that charged VERY quick and took out a system in one hit... :( The thing is this sort of thing has happened lots, like iv never made it out of the first sector with this mod... Is it just me or does everyone have this problem?
