Wait, is somebody else reviving Overdrive, or at least attempting to recreate the game?

I got caught up in finals, so unfortunately I wasn't even able to respond to JLPH as he was having legal issues. But if someone else is attempting to start from scratch... I'm more than happy to help.

@Fallen Currently the only active work is with BFrizzleFoShizzle, and possibly Northern Warrior (if they show up again). Both of these are DLL injection, and not attempts to rewrite the game.

John Luke Pack Hard was trying to rewrite FTL from scratch, in their thread "A Drive for Overdrive". JLPH's project got shut down by the FTL devs due to legal issues, and will not be worked on again, ever. The original "FTL: Overdrive" by Vhati has been mothballed for a long time.

Right, I'm aware of the shutdown. I also didn't realize that the new project is a DLL injection, so there's that.

In any case, if BFrizzleFoShizzle and/or Northern Warrior need help, I'm more than willing to offer my services, though I'm not sure how much I can do.

I noticed OP is using some awfully large ships. Is that part of the hardcoded modding, or is he doing it some other way?

Lol no, OP just likes making gigantic modded ships. Here are some of their threads:

Deal. I want to learn about reverse engineering, writing APIs and dll injection. I acutally have one game with hard-coded feature I want make mod for, but I'm quite green. I just completed Cheat Engine's tutorial. If you willing to teach me I will help you with your stuff.

Please contact me If you are interested.
