FTL: The Arcadian War Wants Your Events!

Im having some trouble coming up with events for our mod and we would like your input on it. Your event ideas should contain Arcadian War lore and Federation lore. Your can find the mod development and lore here.

Also something important to remember. Sides are SWITCHED. As in Engi and Zoltan's are enemies, the Arcadians consist of mostly humans so those can be either/or. Please have the events meet these requirements.

-Lore friendly
-Balanced
-Match regular FTL tone.
-Written as usable xml.append code, including sub-events, lists and ship events if necessary

Just an Idea for a Quest, there are 2 ships battling, an offensive arcadian and a federation peace maker, both ships are at the urge of destruction. When you go and request if the arcadian ship needs help, the arcadian reacts negatively and says "you are far too weak to handle this, leave at once" while the federation ship begs for mercy, saying he never intended of any harm to be caused.

The event allows you to follow a request from a lower rank in command and leave, deffend your ally by destroying the federation ship, or show sympothy for the federation ship and attack the arcadian ship.

Sorry about not having the .xml or whatever it is, I'm not good at modding and never made a custom event mod.

How about this

you jump to find a strange vessel that appears to be a hybrid of Arcadian and federation technology

1 hail them

2 do a scan of the ship then hail them

3 do a detailed scan then hail them (blue event needs sensors level two)

after doing a scan 4 you attempt to scan the hybrids weapons and then find yourself being scanned! then you detect multiple weapon locks! ( fight a extremely hard ship)

after battling 5 after a finishing blow the hybrid ship explodes along with all the supplies aboard nothing is left. then you see a small drone drone escape though a remaining section of the ship! ( plus one random drone)

after doing a detailed scan 6 after doing a detailed scan you are surprised to see that the ship has no reactor debris filters and when it targets your ship you fire and after the smoke clears you see half of the ship destroyed! ( fight a much weaker ship)

after hailing them 7 after hailing the vessel you find that they are offering a strange trade: one fire drone. one system repair drone. and a crew member saying that if you do not comply they will "blow your ship into space dust"

8 agree ( fifty percent chance they take your stuff and attack. and fifty percent chance they offer to trade for a super drone that is a tenth the size of a normal ship for 100 scrap ( the super drone would fire one basic laser shot a second but needs NINE power))

9 why would i ever trade so many resources for nothing? CHARGE THE CANONS! ( ninety percent chance they attack you ten percent chance they offer 5 fuel and to open a shop)

after defeating them with boarding 10 with all the crew dead you climb aboard their ship and find that there is a hybrid weapon reactor you take the reactor and install it on your ship ( you get a hybrid reactor witch is a modified version of the automated re-loader but makes the weapons charge TWICE as fast)

this might be a little OP but hey the chances are low and it is a TOUGH battle! :lol:

How about this!

You jump to find a seemingly abandond Federation spacecraft. it would seem it has gone through quite the beating as you can see fuel leak from the storage.

1. Hail the ship.

2. Destroy and loot the ship.( It has very little hull left(Health)

3. Fly close enogh to board it.

4. Blue option. Teleport onto the ship.(Teleport)

5.Blue option. Have your Lanius crewmember floate towards the ship.(Lanius)

6. Blue option. Safly fly by the side of the ship.(Advanced piloting.

1a. The weakend ship powers up its Ftl drive and its weapons. it would seem you have to fight this badly damaged ship.
1a. The fuel-line egnites and the ship explodes into bits and pieces. You scavange for what you can use, but you cant help but feel a bit bad for destroying a helpless ship. Reward: Low scrap and fuel.

1ab. the ship remains silent until util it suddenly jumps away. Reward: Nothing

2a. The fuel-line egnites and the ship explodes into bits and pieces. You scavange for what you can use, but you cant help but feel a bit bad for destroying a helpless ship. Reward: low scrap and fuel.

3a. As you attempt to manuver around the damaged ship, a spark from your engine egnites the fuel floating around the ship and the ship explodes in a huge fireball. You can at least loot the remaining parts of the ship. Reward: Hull and system damage. Low scrap.

3b. You managed to safly manuver around the ship and dock by the side of the ship. You and your crew enter the seemingly abandoned ship. You find a usable weapon and some scrap onboard the ship.

3ba. Leave the ship with weapon and scrap. Reward: Random weapon (Bad to ok.) and med scrap.

3bb. (Slug Crew) "Can you sense anyone?" If allowed to have slug, if not point of down below is no good, until number 4.

3bca. You and your crew find the ships mechanic holed up in the ships kitchen. He is scared out of his mind when you find him, probably questioning weather or not he will live through this enqounter. Regulations say that any enemy officals captred must be transferd to command for innprisonment, but your slug says that he has doubt about his cause do to having an Arcadian wife and used to live with her on the Arcadian side of the border, but when the war broke out he was enlisted. He may be interested in joining the Arcadian cause.

3bcaa. Have the prisoner escorted to hold up. You have command notified of your prisoner and they manage to set up a prisoner exchange.

3bcab. Allow the mechanic to join the crew. (Human Half good at Engines and Reparing + Random Weapon (bad to good) and med scrap.)

3bcaba. The prisoner after being introduced to the crew, suddenly lashes out towards one of your crew member with a grenade. An explosion goes off and There is nothing you can do but hang on and watch as your dead crewmember is sucked out of the ship. after the arlock closes the Slug appologises to you and begins walking toward its chambers. you guess it is deeply disturbed by its failure. Reward : Hull damage, the new and one random crew-member is now dead.

3bcabb. You new crewmember is appointed its post.

3bcaaa. You arrive at the designated spot for the prisoner exchange, but no-one seem to be here. You deside to wait for the Federation ship.

Suddenly a missile flies towards the cockpit and your pilot just manages to evade it. a Federation ship appers. it would seem the Federation is not interested to negotiate.

After destroying the ship the prisoner is sadly executed do to Arcadian Hostage law. The mechanic askes you to tell his wife that he is dead. you oblige. Reward: med scrap and fuel.

4. You managed to teleport onto the ship.You and your crew enter the seemingly abandoned ship. You find a usable weapon and some scrap onboard the ship. (Then continuing From 3b)

5. the Lanius is released into dark and empty space and floates towards the ship. The lanius is, as you already know, quite handy with scrap and he manages to grab with him loades of scrap. Reward High scrap.

6. Thankes to your advanced piloting, you can safly manouver into a position where you can board the ship. (Then continuing From 3b)

1. You spot a broken down ship of the federation,

1. (Improved Sensors) Scan the ship for life and anything of the sort,
2. Dock with the ship and search for life.
3. Leave the ship alone as a trick to the enemy,

Outcomes:

1a: You love to find that an entire of the crew is still living on the ship!
1b: You find no life on the ship and choose to scrap the ship for weapons - Find a Mark II weapon or drone and a small amount of fuel and maybe scrap.

2a: You find that there is still life left on this ship.
2b: You find that there is no oxygen on the ship, -Lose one - two crew members and 2 rooms get oxygen drained,

3a: A enemy ship jumps to the beacon and destroys the ship, Afterwards they notice you and charge their weapons, -Fight one small ship,
3b: Nothing happens and you choose to charge your FTL and jump out of the sector,

Second Choice:


1AA (Teleporter) Send a crew member onto the ship,
2AA Let them live their own life and repair their ship,


Outcomes


1AAA Your crew explains that you are friendly and wish to help, As a trick to the federation anything will help, -Small scrap reward and a mark I weapon, A large amount of fuel, OR - A crew member
2AAA Your crew member is killed by the federation crew! He could not trick them into thinking you were friendly! - You Lose a crew member,
