I have the same issues as John Luc, with the white box, and the same system specs. Is it possible to get the DRM-free version without buying the game again if you got it on steam?

I put mods in my list, and the scroll in the Modmanager doesn't work. I tried deleting mods so I didn't need to scroll, but the mods stay in the manager. How do I get rid of mods? I thought it would just be deleting them from the mods folder, but that doesn't work.
*Edit*
Nevermind! I attempted to update, (Still says 1.4 so It might not have worked) and now all the mods work as well as the scroll!
*Re-Edit*
Uhhh... Now the mods won't work. They're there, and they haven't been altered, but they don't work. What's going on? Is it becaue my modmanager is 1.4 while everything else is 1.4.1?

For those with the struct error, please make sure the .dat files are NOT read-only.

I checked, mine are not read only.

I downloaded the latest version and tried to install the extra scrap dummy mod as a test. I am also getting the struct error, and when that happens my game won't start anymore and I need to verify my game cache to fix it.
My .dat files are NOT read only, I triple checked. You mentioned something about not moving the FTL folder. The game folder is not moved with respect to the normal steam folder structure. However, my steam folder is not in the standard location: it is on a different partition than the windows partition. Could that cause trouble?
Otherwise, I don't know what could be wrong.
additional info: I also get the error when patching without any mods selected. And that also breaks the game.

So far it seems that everyone that has this error has the steam version and has their game located at a nonstandard location.
As to why this happens... I have no bloody clue. Everything should be relative.
Is there anyone having this issue with a Drm-free copy or with steamapps in the normal location?

Realy would like to know how to get this to work. I open my modman patch in the mods and the game hasn't changed at all.
