What option controls beam width? Also, is it possible to change beam color?

Increasing the sp will turn up the beam width, but it is shield piercing, so be careful. I don't think changing beam color is possible without modding the source....

The width depends on the damage the beam has. Also, it's (sadly) impossible to change a beams color.
