Crap, I totally forgot about that, thanks for reminding me :)
So that makes my job a lot easier... Still probably not gonna make the break for release, since it's a low priority thing, but definitely gained some feasibility points ;)

Will Superluminal shp. files be compatible with Superluminal 2? In other words, should I bother making anything else before Superluminal 2 is released?

I plan to get that implemented eventually, but it's not a priority for the release.

There's actually not much to worry about; if you export your ship from Superluminal as a .ftl file, you can load it in Superluminal2; all you need to do is to load it under File > Mod Management, then go to File > Open, search under the entry that you saved the ship under, and simply select and open it. You should see the name and information for your previously designed ship there. :)
