Not much to the origin story on this one. Just a daydream leading to the "can a ship be made around this idea?". The idea in this case being the Crystal Vengeance augment we all so happily sell at our earliest convenient. Combining it with that other augment we rather sell, this ship took shape. And I hope you'll like the "quirk" on this one. It works better than you may think...

Strategy
The strategy is pretty straight forward. Using the guaranteed shards from the upgrade Crystal Vengeance along with the free hull repairs from the Crystal Growth (repair arm that doesn't take scrap in the process) means that early game you'll be trading hull for extra fire power.
Late game, they're a nice bonus and you'll probably won't have too much of a hard time with the free repairs. Balance wasn't my main concern for this one, but I tried. Got suggestions, let me know, I'll look into them.

Ship replaces Crystal B
Is not part of the Bio's Fleet Pack as it messes with augments. And without those adjustments, this ship is probably toast.
Ship has artillery available only in CE, it's the Lattice Lockdown Blast found on Crystal A
