[MOD HUB] Stylesrj's Special Spacious Shipyard

Well it's about time I put together all my ships I've made in FTL over the years and perhaps link them in one place.

So let's see what I can remember... if I missed any, let me know because I'm only going by order of the Mediafire links I have and by the topics I made for them under this subforum.

My first ship mod I believe. I don't think I started posting my mods here until after AE had come out. It's a Mantis Pirate cruiser based off a mishmash of various Mantis ships and the engines of an Osprey. So if you want to look into the past, take it with a grain of salt.

My second foray into using Zoltan Power for fun and OP profit. Had some hiccups at first but it was updated when I knew better on how subsystems and systems reacted to ion blasts.

The Cassowary

What do you get when you take the Kestrel and make the guns really powerful but really bad? You get the Cassowary of course!
I highly recommend this one gets a run because it is hilarious in application.

Christmas In FTL

Around December 2015, everything was in the Christmas spirit and I went ahead and used my limited modding abilities of ships and events to create the Christmas Flagship, the Tinstrel and the Candy Cane.
This Christmas Classic is fun for the whole family, especially when combined with Gencool's mod, Faster Than Christmas. Those were the days :)

Nighthawk Stealth Fighter

Christmas had ended and it was time to experiment with ship splicing. The Nighthawk was one such result. I had seen a Stealth Bomber mod and I thought about creating the Stealth Fighter counterpart. It uses a Glaive Beam Artillery and lots of lasers to tear enemy ships apart, much like the DA SR-12 Stealth Cruiser.

The Gutei (Zoltan Flagship)

My most inexplicably popular mod ever. This combines the efforts of the Defendant and the Magistrate into an overpowered Zoltan-powered death machine with high-powered weaponry, everything being clustered in one place and also custom events for acquiring the 8 Zoltan needed to run the thing.

Faster Than Police

With my skills in modding events at hand ,I went about on a large overhaul of the opening in FTL. I changed a few names around and tried to create a story about a loose cannon Zoltan cop who doesn't play by the rules. He was assigned an Engi partner and had to deliver the intel to destroy the Rebels to Commissioner Tully. It's quite charming actually and worth a look into even if the story is cheesy.

Scrin Planetary Assault Carrier

It was around this time I believe that the modding community was bringing ships from the Command & Conquer series of games into FTL.
Armed with a large Drone bay and Stormriders for weapons, this ship was one of those vessels I enjoyed using Drones for.
When given Artillery, it could take down strong shields due to how dangerous Ion Beams were. I figured it would have to be short to be balanced but the jury is still out on this one.

The Etwhal

Around this time I was heavily into League of Legends and I wanted to bring some of that into FTL. This was my first ship based on the game. The Etwhal is the instrument of the Maven of Strings, Sona. She was a support character with the ability to heal those around her quickly, accelerate them and deal heavy damage with the power of music.
She was also part of a metal band called Pentakill so I combined these aspects together into a ship. Later versions added a Crescendo Laser which only worked if the enemy's shields were down; because the community had discovered negative shield-piercing at that time.
Also worth looking into.

Light Em Up With Lux

My second foray into League... ummm yeah it's based off Luxanna Crownguard and her ability to destroy things with the power of light.
I didn't think of the consequences though when I weaponised her annoying laugh as a stunning ion weapon of sorts and added her Final Spark as a long-charging but battle-ending sniper weapon that could tear apart enemy ships quickly.

What Is Broken Can Be Reforged (Riven)

I eventually stopped thinking Sona and Lux were that great and experimented with the Riven character. She was an exiled swordswoman who lost her faith in her country after an atrocity was committed and she survived. Her magic sword was broken and she went to wander the lands seeking honour in battle and perhaps death.
This was the basis for the Riven Cruiser. A Rebel Frigate was involved in a big, dishonourable battle where they barely survived and all they had left was the siege cannon used to devastate the fleets in battle. They couldn't restore it back to its old glory but they could redeem themselves. They had lost faith in the Rebellion so they went to help the Federation get the intel they needed to win the war.

Custom events, idle beacon outcomes like in Captain's Edition and a constant promise by me to finish the ship... eventually.

The Missile Master

Ever wanted to see what happened when you applied Chain modifiers to a missile launcher? Why not a Vulcan that shot missiles instead? Or a missile launcher that got more powerful with each shot?
That was the basis for the Missile Master... after I found out Explosive Replicators couldn't be modified or stacked.
Although it did originally start with the Missile Vulcan, I added the Adaptive Missile and the Artillery later on so there was more missile diversity.

There was a few-month gap between my last mod and this one. Probably the Xenoblade and Fallout 4?
Trump fever was starting in the United States and we all thought it would be a joke. So I made a ship based off a few things I had heard and was suggested and made fun of...
Then I made the mistake of putting more effort into the parody... going up to Version 4 with more and more silly stuff.
Biohazard063 still thinks the Trump Steak sounds disgusting but that's sort of the point.

The Clinton Cruiser

In any case, I had thought there was no way Hillary would lose because standard politicians were what everyone voted for so this ship was bought-and-paid-for with a set of Burst Laser II's because how can you lose with that much firepower?
It was only foreshadowing because yes you can lose with that much firepower.

The Rebel Fagship

Not to be confused with the Flagship. What would have happened if the shipyards who built the Flagship accidentally removed the "L" from the design specs? You get a massive cigarette!
The ship brings a message to the Rebel masses that yes indeed, smoking is hazardous towards your health.

The Druuge Mauler

I finally got around to continuing my experiments with loopy doors and trapping crew between rooms for some sort of gimmick.
The Druuge Mauler tries to replicate the ship of the same name used in Star Control II.
The ship in the game had a powerful cannon with heavy recoil and a slow energy recharge rate. But if you threw one of the crew into the reactor, it would recharge much faster and thus the gun could be used again.
The same concept was used for this one in that your Weapons Zoltan is sacrificed to keep the gun operational. If you lose them and the gun is damaged, you got to send someone else in there to fix it up.
Might be worth looking into for that gimmick alone.

The Lanius Trail

An AI ship is hooked up to an immobile Lanius cruiser as they travel across the stars like a wagon train of the Old West.
Much like the Gutei and Faster Than Police, I get back into the idea of creating custom events and a special gimmick is involved for both repairing the ship and the use of the Clone Bay in order to access the rear section while keeping the front separate.
Also a good look into just for the gimmicks involved and the theme. I mean, Lanius cowboys? Seriously? Why are you not looking at this now!?

The Pacifist Run

There was a bit of a request for Undertale based ships around this time so I threw together a Pacifist run with a few Undertale references but it was mostly there to see how far one could go with no offensive systems and just Determination. The ending required one stayed Determined though.

Liability and Incompetence

A pair of Mantis ships I whipped together based on the Lanius Trail gimmick. One has the rear rooms exposed but the front covered in shields and the other has the rear covered but the front vulnerable. I actually have not flown these because both of them are a rather silly gimmick but I'm sure someone has scraped out a victory with them.

Typhoon Attack Sub

To celebrate my 100 subscribers on Youtube, I brought out the 100 Sub Special video and... the Typhoon attack sub so one could do submarine work in space. I used the sounds from Red Alert 1 when it fired and hit the enemy and it also made for an interesting custom artillery.

Drone Swarm

A bunch of Drones decide to go against the Rebellion. The gimmick here is that each drone is a separate room so there's no way to repair it with crew or drones. The Lanius Trail's repair bomb is used on this one to help fix damaged systems and fend off Lanius/AI Boarders if applicable.

Saint's Row Playas! (Zin Ship)

Based off the ship from Saint's Row 4, this ship was one of those with a small gimmick and easy-going playstyle. Nothing too special; it was mostly about the theme.

Trenchcoat's Arrival (The Fat Lady)

A lot of time had passed between my last mods so I had to relearn how to do a few things. I was also playing Anno 2070 again at the time and well, I decided to combine elements from the story of Anno 2070 and 2205 as to why Trenchcoat was all the way out in the stars and fighting the Rebels.
Notable in that the artillery lobs a crapton of cargo at the enemy.

Best seen on the thread itself to be believed. This is a massive overhaul of FTL's sound files. Well worth checking out and installing. You will not regret it!

Spathi Eluder

Another Star Control ship brought into FTL. The Spathi Eluder technically shoots back towards the enemy and is designed to be rather evasive. It also has a powerful torpedo launcher designed to damage or cripple enemy ships to assist in expediting itself from the battlefield but we all know we don't run from our enemies but charge head-on.

Bread Pirate Taco

Based off a bad joke or pun, Bread Pirate Taco is the Dread Pirate Tuco's brother who doesn't like people claiming to be him. His ship is a taco shell loaded with a variety of ingredients to set ships ablaze after taking their shields down.

Pickle Ship!

It's... a Slug ship that doesn't need to destroy enemy shields before firing off a powerful anti-bio beam.

Uses his annoying Old Man sound to render ship crews completely useless while Engies board and clean up the mess.
