(SHIP) The Melded

Faster than light travel is a tricky business. These three ships happened to warp into the same place at the same time and sort of.... melded... Their weapons also combined into some sort of spinning ion fire blaster.... Are you sure it's safe to keep jumping?

My second ship (today and ever). Made out of FTL ship parts and guns (with a bit of recolouring) so nothing too new. Still needs testing by others, so if you think anything needs changing, let me know :D. For most people this will be a pretty easy ship, but hopefully rather fun!!!

Starting Systems:
Power = 7
Piloting 1
Medbay 1
Engines 2
O2 1
Doors 1
Sensors 2
Shield 2
Weapons 3

Augments:
Adaptive Gel Suits

Comes with two 'Chaos Spinner' guns. These are modified Vulcan cannons, with no damage. However they do 1 ion damage, stun crew for 5 seconds and have a high chance to start fires.

I can only get 2 person into the med room at a time, the spot farthest from the door can be set on fire, but cant be occupied.

I was going to post about that (the medbay) but then I forgot.

However, even though it was unintentional, it is interesting that you can make a 2x1 medbay only accessible by one person because of the medbay's mount. Adds a challenge to the ship, adding a sort of balance. This balance is what I usually do to make a ship not too OP; high stats in one area, deficient in another. You could say that you could just use a 1x1 but it wouldn't be the same because 1x1 rooms handle oxygen loss strangely as they were never meant to exist.

Yeh, it would balance it. But this is supposed to be an unbalanced ship :D

Another interesting 'bug' i came across is that if you have a medbay and clonebay in seperate rooms and both available at start, the game only allows one at a time. In my case it removed the clonebay, but the space which i had set as the cloning machine was blocked, even though it was empty!! (Making a one-man but two-square room)

Oh and I also forgot to tell you that the Chaos Spinners have two issues.

1. The glow isn't aligned properly with the weapon. It is a little bit off of the weapon, making the glow not look like it is part of the weapon.

2. The weapon moves up and down when firing instead of just the barrel firing and moving like the vulcan. This is probably due to the fact that each frame of the ship is not properly defined. I think you have to make the outline black or something but I'm not sure how the game detects this. Should probably ask in the inquiries thread if it there isn't an answer to it. There probably is, but I haven't looked.

Yeh, I had noticed those. But being new to modding I don't really know what to do :S I'll look into it tomorrow. If anyone can suggest why the glow is misaligned i'd be most grateful. It happened on another weapon I made but i can't work out why......

Edit: Totally fixed the chaos gun, was a problem with the .png having borders :L
