You jump into the middle of an asteroid field. Looking around, you find you are surrounded by dozens of wrecks of other ships. Faint wisps of light can be seen moving between wrecks. As you watch, they seem to be changing path and floating toward your ship!

If you encountered the event outside a CE hazard sector, then the mod has actually nothing to do with it. That version of the event was added by AE, you will have to complain to the FTL defs.


I encountered it in infinite space. So that is a base-game event? Hm. Ok, I'll just mod it out myself. Shouldn't be too hard.

PS: I'm working on a couple of lines for CE's crew chats, because they start getting repetitive when the Rock tells you about its forced marriage for the 4th time.

It was a cut event from the base game, I though it might have been re-added with AE, but I'm still not entirely sure (it is only used in a pretty obscure list.) I did not take into account that infinite might throw it at you this early though. Looking into that now.

Hello. I've downloaded and installed the 1.213 version of base CE yesterday. I've played 1.21 before, I think.
I made a new save - a Zoltan A. Decided to check out what's the artillery about.
However, in 1.213 my saves kinda get... corrupted? I can play as usual just fine, but once I get artillery (had a very lucky run in S1, got 160 scrap and the shop at the exit had the Artillery Beam) or get to sector 2 (couldn't pinpoint which one of those two yet) and leave the game afterwards (turn the game off, just exit to the main menu, etc) I can't continue my game - each time I press "Continue" my game just crashes with no error messages whatsoever.

Please, please help. ;_; I absolutely love the idea of artillery for every ship but I don't always have time for a full playthrough non-stop.

CE is the only mod I'm running, I have nothing else at all.

I can't guarantee that saves remain compatible between this last updates, cause changes where made to player ships. You might have to reinstall the previous CE version if you want to continue that save.

Nah, I knew that. I made a brand new save on 1.213. And it dies.
I just downloaded 1.214b (god you update FAST), gotta check this one out. Zoltan B again, bought the artillery, gotta check if it's dead or not.

P.S. Yep. 1.214b, new save, it crashes on clicking "Continue" again and there is seemingly nothing I can do.
I've found a crash log in FTL's folder and it says the following:

Anyway, don't you guys think that the bottom part of loading_main is kinda weird?
I mean, it was obviously supposed to be some weapon but it looks pretty bad in-game.

I'm still doing in-game testing to figure out what's wrong. I just did a full reinstall, purged the entire mod manager folder and installed it again, now 1.214b is the only mod currently present in the folder, everything's new and fresh.

So far I was able to quit in sector 2 and continue normally - however, I don't have an artillery system yet, saved up enough scrap for one though. Stay tuned for more updates on my issue, maybe you'll be able to figure out some way to help with all this.

Edits: Sector 3, no artillery system. Everything is working fine. Vanilla also works fine regardless of what shenanigans do I try to pull off.
Sector 3, bought an artillery system. Exit to main menu. Hit continue again.
This time around the game doesn't crash instantly, instead it hangs up for about a minute or two and then gives the following error:

Halp. I'm out of ideas, but it's most definitely happens only if I get the artillery system, every other system works fine.

I gave Zoltan A artillery from the start for testing, but I can't reproduce that problem. :| Did anyone else encounter this problem?

More of 'em tests. That glitch also happened to me on Lanius B, but Fed A/B/C with their innate artillery work perfectly fine. I guess one of the key points is buying the module in a shop, seeing how a ship that has artillery from the beginning works fine, but at least two others don't.

P.S. Yep. Rock A, bought an artillery system. I can play as usual as long as I don't exit to the main menu or quit the game. After that my save never loads at all and either crashes instantly or keeps handing out errors like those I've described above.
