Yeah, I had designed it with difficulty in mind, but I think it turned out a little bit harder than I had in mind so I might release an easier version of it with slightly better weapons.

I'm really surprised you didn't have any trouble with it, but I suspect that's largely due to your lack of rebel fleet pushing you forward. Being able to go to every beacon in the first two sectors would make the ship much easier, because you'd get a LOT more time powering up with the easiest enemies. Without that easy huge ammount of early scrap I find the ship is generally really hard.
