Healbeams dont work sadly. I have tried it. Neither do healing lasers. Apparently only the sodding bomb is allowed to heal.

Would you care to elaborate? And what about healing drones? Do the drones not work at all or is it that they don't target crew or...?

No its just that all weapons besides bombs do not apply the heal. You can shoot them and all... just no heal.

What I not tried are drones with heal bombs... or any kind of bomb weapon. Maybe that would be fun.

But i know how you feel. I have a fully designed heal beam animation up my sleeve. I never can use it.

A heal-bomb drone is a really cool idea, though I wonder if the inability to aim would make it way too unpredictable to be useful.

Being able to aim it would be way too OP. :)

Not sure if it's been answered, as I mostly skimmed the previous posts, but either way;

The hull graphic is blurry because the graphic itself has different dimensions than what you've declared in shipname.xml. The game uses the values in that file to determine the placement and size of the graphic.
To fix it, in your shipname.xml find the following line:
<img x="##" y="##" w="###" h="###"/>
and change the w and h to match the hull graphic's dimensions (700 in this case, I believe).
Of course, since the game will not resize the graphic, it'll probably be too large. You'll have to resize it manually via photoshop, or a similar program (and update the values in shipname.xml to match)

Actually, except the heal bomb, i already did drones with almost all kind of weapons (next update of my omicron mod). Even the cristal lockdown effect (really great and funny i tell u xD, if u ignite fire inside a sealed room, its a really great strategy). My guess is that heal bombs, since as far as i know only heals player units, will not work on the enemy ship. Besides i dont see the point on using heal bombs mounted on drones xDDD, u want to kill em all, not to heal em all.. :lol:

My idea was to have the heal-drone "try" to heal boarding parties on enemy ships with a lower cost and less effectiveness.
I suppose its a little frivolous and nonsensical, but just think. A drone that just wants to heal people. Yeah, it's stupid and doesn't always aim and sometimes misses the ship completely, but it tries. Oh my god does he try.

Now if you excuse me I'm going to retreat to my bubble and write space epics about a stupid drone.

Well, that could work, but i dont know if the problem is that heal bombs are restricted to you own ship or it can be applied on enemy ships, now that i think on it, i never tried that, but i didnt see any mod around doing something like that..
