Class A is OP, but in a fun way! I managed to get all the way through and beat the boss without losing more than 75% health. I have yet to try type B.

(Psst, this is an edit ) *The next day* Type B is more challenging, the weapon system requires a bit more finesse, the teleporter could begin with a higher level, and due to boarding drones and the Ion Artillery Beam, I rarely used the teleport to begin with. I managed to beat the game with type B, in under an hour, but I had a little under 50% health when the boss died.

Overall, Type A is awesome, Type B is for those requiring more of a challenge out of the ship.

Great ships! Love the layouts, models, and features. Were they balanced for your Insane Difficulty mod, though? They're extremely powerful more or less right off the bat. The Advanced Ions will hold the line until you can get rank 5 in the Ion Beam, and then it's only a short jaunt through the remaining sectors. What was the original intent with rank 5?

I do like that even though there's a lot of expansion capability in the ship, you're still limited to a max of 30 power (plus any Zoltans you pick up), which prevents things from getting any more out of hand than they already are. I'll have to give these a try in Infinite, because it seems like they'd be better suited to that difficulty curve.

yea the ships are balanced for my Insane Difficulty Mod.
I might upload an alternate file that will be more balanced to play with the vanilla game.

troll-mode setup:

- one Ion battlecruiser
- weapon pre-ignifier
- Ion beam at lv 5 fully powered
- 2x Artillery Laser (Mark I or II) (from Balanced Arsenal)
- 1x Assault Drone (from your Hayabusa drone cruiser) cruiser
- one elite engineer manning the controls

the beam makes the shields 'go away' and the artillery makes nice holes in the enemy ships.
I killed the boss before his specials kicked in at phase 2 and 3 xD

(this was at the vanilla difficulty though, so by default it's already a bit OP since you designed your ships for the insane difficulty mod)

I have the exact same problem. Turns out that mediafire is limiting how many downloads a free user can make per week now. Could you please upload it to somewhere else like Dropbox instead.
