[MOD] Corpses 2.1

This is a very small mod that adds corpses when the enemy ship explodes. You may miss it if you don't look for it at the brief moment. When an enemy ship explodes, you may see the enemy crew get sucked into the vacuum of space. The corpses are also race specific. Rebel ships will have human corpses, mantis will have mantis corpses, and so forth. Nonetheless, adds that extra little satisfaction when killing your enemies after a bitter battle.

Version 1
- 2 corpses per enemy ship.
- Default enemy ships.

Version 2.1: Captain Edition 1.067 Updated 11/20/2013
- 1 corpses for AI Ghost ships.
- 4 corpses per battle stations.
- 4 corpses for cruisers.
- 2 corpses per default ships.
- All enemy variances have corpses.
Also works for Vanilla game. Have more bugs fixed.


I have not encountered all enemy ships yet, so sorry if some corpses cause the exploding sequence to be funky. Namely, the crystal ships. ( Even after 300 hours played.) However, the exploding sequence should be so fast that it shouldn't bother you too much even if you encounter a bug. . .

Installation:

1. Download the attached winrar file.
2. Right click and press extract here and you'll get "corpses v1.ftl"
3. Place the .ftl file into the mods folder.
4. Patch the game using SMM.

Compatibility: Should be compatible with all mods, unless the mod changes enemy gibs like this one.
-Version 2.1 made specifically made for Captain Edition 1.067
-Make sure to patch Captain edition and Player ship addons first.

Wow thats evil....could you add charcoal corpes being jetisened if I burned the ship out? (a joke, watch my fire based ships LPs for more detail LOL)

it's based on the ship hull, not how the ship was killed... so that wouldn't be possible
All ships I have created include custom weapons, graphics etc:

The corpses are taken from the game character sprite sets. To add corpses to each ship, you write additional gibs into the ship xml file. Also, each new gibs must be labeled as each ship's gib. You have to set x and y position correctly. Use windows paint to get the coordinates where you want something to appears. Speed, angles, and direction . . . I have no clue how exactly they work. For corpses it can be a random direction so it doesn't matters to me to be precise.

Yup, as far as I can tell the number of gibs is not limited in any way. Haven't tested beyond 10, though.

I renamed the .ftl but it still doesn't appear?

Appear in where? GMM patcher? Windows can prevent you from changing file extension sometimes. Please refer to this: http://www.mediacollege.com/microsoft/windows/extension-change.html

If you referred to in game, blow up a few ships and see if corpses fly out.

yes in the gmm patcher it doesnt appear even though it is already renamed to .ftl
everything else is fine

why does the ftl appear to still be a zip? aren't ftls different? simply changing the extension surely doesnt change a zip to a ftl?
