Sleeper: If you kept the files homed at github permanently, I'd be fixing all these. :D

Yeah thanks for the offer. :) As mentioned before, the github app isn't in working condition for Linux and editing things in the browser is very tedious.

I'm correcting the stuff that was mentioned, but I'm still not completely sure what causes the random crashes. Did a whole sweep with the error checker as well, I hope the resulting fixes help.

1.082
- Several small fixes
- Some overlooked events added to lists

why cant you make this modular, what if i don't want part or if i only want part of it? i cant get balanced weapons with the new weapons in captions addition and a few other moods but i cant get the latest version standalone -_-
would it really be that hard to make it modular? (PS, sorry if it sounds like im angry and or i don't like this mod, i do like it, just not as much i could have)

Dropbox links are all down due to bandwidth usage. :(

I was wondering how long it would be possible to keep handling this via dropbox. Might be because the mod became quite large with all the new backgrounds. Let's see how long this stays like that. I'd consider resettling to Mod Data Base in case this starts to happen regularly.

Cant download the new version or see the images posted in the OP. Too much bandwidth used. Mediafire might be a better choice, at least temporarily.

More spelling/usage:

"The automatic* structure is badly damaged and activates its self-destruction** sequence..." - *I think "automated" is a better choice; **"self-destruct"

"While I personally like free markets and little regulations for* corporations like mine, the Rebels seem to view this a little too liberal*. They have forcefully occupied one of our R and D installments*..." Next dialog box "We need this installment* intact." - 1)I think "regulation of" fits better. 2)"liberally" or perhaps "Liberally"? 3)"R&D installations" 4)"installations"

Shouldn't this event check for teleporter, bombs, fire, anti-bio or antipersonnel weapons? I didn't have any.

"You arrived at* a region of space that is facing a full out* humanitarian crisis. Reports ... contradictory at best, the * only thing ... lock-down*..." - 1)"arrive in"; I think present tense works better; 2) "full-blown"; 3) End sentence, start new "best. The only"; 4) "lockdown"

"Several cities on this planet, as well as some of it's* orbitals emit* a distress sinal*." [2nd box] "The civilian* immediately surrender... Some of them drop makeshift melee weapons, many* have bloodstains on their cloths*. You put them under watch and realize you did good so:* ..." - 1)"its"; 2) add comma between "orbitals" and "emit"; 3) "signal"; 4)"civilians" plural; 5) semicolon instead of comma between "weapons" and "many"; 6) "clothes"; 7) "you were wise to do so." note period instead of colon.

"A small civilian station has suffered a minor outbreak and activated it's* distress signal ..." - *"its"

Chat with Rock: "The Rockmen* mentioned** that ..." - 1)"Rockman"; 2)"mentions"

"...and the sector scanner gathers a few hyper-bytes* of data..." - This is my opinion, but I think "hyper-bytes" sounds silly; also doesn't need a hyphen. I think you could use a standard SI prefix that isn't used as much, like "petabytes", "exabytes", or even "zettabytes" or "yottabytes" if you think there's that much information.

"A ship without life forms* ..." - "lifeforms"

You don't have to use the github app. You can use regular command-line git with linux and a github repo. Here's an easy howto:
http://readwrite.com/2013/09/30/underst ... ers-part-1

You'd just keep using your regular editor and just run the same three git commands every time you want to commit, push or pull updates. It's gotta be way easier than fixing it via some of these reports. X)

Hey, firstly thank you for the amazing mod (and to those mods rolled into it) really expands the game while keeping in flavour. Thanks so much!

And then on to my problem, I was streaming the game recently and ran into several crashes (some very annoyingly timed) while running CE and some additional mods, I didn't think there would be a conflict as I had ran a very similar build on my laptop for quite a while a week ago. Tried downgrading CE to the .7 (which I had been running fine on my laptop) rather than the latest build (one of my crashes was upon trying to go to a contaminated sector, which I believe are new? So thought that might be the issue), and that resulted in only one crash in a 3 hour stream rather than the 4 I got the previous stream (of 4 hrs). The mods list I am using is:

CE (was up to date but reverted to prev. version)
+player ship addon
+expanded enemy window
+people modified addon (inc. custom entries to inc. the ability to select diff. sprites for player and enemy humans)
Better Planets and Background (1.2.1 because 1.3.1 caused confirmed and repeatable crashes on my laptops combination at around 15 seconds after load no matter what)
New Game Booster
Crystal Quest Tweak
Extra Name Mod

Additional debug info: Windows 7 64-bit for both OSs

Barring CEPM (which just changes the sprites sheet and shouldn't cause any crashes) and Extra Name Mod (which I imagine just changes the data entry for the list of names and shouldn't cause a crash either) this mod lsit is exactly the same as the stable one on my laptop. Any idea what could be causing the instability? I am pretty lost have tried a few setups. I love the mod, and the modding scene in general behind FTL and would love to be able to stream it some more. However crashing as entering the 7th sector is a tooled-up and wealthy stealth ship can be rather... frustrating. ;P

P.s. I agree with the above poster who mentioned the type A loadout for the Man of War being unable to damage systems meaning you are helpless against many types of enemies until you procure at least one better weapon. Against medbays and AIs you suffer badly and when they have 2 levels of shield you really just have to leg it.

P.p.s. Sorry for the wall of text!
