How to reinstall mods after FTL upgrade (Updated - 9/22/13)

Your profile and saved game (if there is one) are kept separately from the main game. Usually in users/username/My Documents/My Games/Faster Than Light. Reinstalling the game should not remove these files (GoG installer might ask you if you want to remove them).

If you want to make sure, find these files and copy them somewhere else for safekeeping.

I have literally just bought FTL today, so do I have to do this? I can't locate the files mentioned.

Huh? How did you play the game before?

Anyway, if you have never modded the game, you don't have to worry about reinstalling mods. This is only for the following case: you have the game, you mod it, you upgrade it, you mod it again, which results in corrupt data files.

Do a file search for prof.sav. You must have played the game once at least before it is created.
