I think it'll be cooler if both doors and sensors where not available at the start and you have instead a mind control but my tastes are rather picky. :lol:

In testing, the ship indeed didn't have sensors. And it's true that you could just see where the crew was and what they were up to. But I kept being annoyed by not actually seeing the fire spread :twisted: .So that explains the sensors.
The stun ion I actually feel like it fits pretty well. Stun people in fires or take out shields to open the way for the firebeam, or use it to actually be able to tackle AI-ships early on.
The mind control makes it so you can only do one of those 3 things, but very well.
For the doors, I suppose I could've gone without them.
But like you said, everyone has his/her own taste and it's fairly impossible to 100% please everybody.

hmm guess I'll do a let's play...with the Faster then Christmas because why not ^_^

Oh and for the record I will post a link to your channel, who knows maybe in the future we could do a collab or something, I always want to help my fellow minnow youtubers in this sea of sharks

That would be sweet on both offers.
Going to do a mod showcase on the Faster than Christmas mod as well.

The reason the stun ion doesn't fit right for me is because it isn't a normal slug weapon.
however it is a pirate. So now I'm 100% okay with it.

Still I think it'll be funny seeing mind control + fire tactics.

The possibilities are endless, I went with hacking on my showcase. Trap the little buggers in there.

that reminds me... in the coding you can find the hacker drone. Is it possible to give it the ability of setting rooms on fire/ breaching/ etc? I remember talks about that but I never heard anything from it...

Suppose it depends on what's in the code. I would doubt it though. Probably a question for someone better at modding then I am. Interesting concept, instead of disabling, set it on fire. Bit OP perhaps.

the starting load out and systems all together on this ship is OP =P
I'm not complaining about the stun ion + duel lasers + firebeam. (I would remove the ion or duel laser)

With that load out I could probably take on sector 5 ships with it. (would have to upgrade my shields and other stuff to good standards though) however I'm not one to judge. I am the guy that put 4 good defense drones, hull repair drone, a few lasers, 50 hull, and called that 'balanced' (it had no shields though...)

We'll just call every ship OP, that way no ship is... Or something along those lines.
Fire is indeed a dangerous thing, but it's not that effective against every opponent.
Useless versus AI ships and lanius ships, less effective when there are rocks on board and to some extent same with engi's. Taking in account that fire takes a while before it destroys systems there's a good chance to take some damage whilst waiting for your opponent to burn.
Of course once it does destroys weapons the enemy becomes your toy...

My line of thought is that the Duel lasers already have the ability to knock down shields and do at least 1 damage in sector one. while you also have a fire beam. That would be more on the challenging side of a ship, however the part where you got the ion that does the same thing but it leaves the duel laser to do the 2 damage and the firebeam to wreck hell is the problem I have. Not just an ion but a stun ion so you got the joys of the first hit stunning the shields guy and most ships only got 2 to 3 crew. less people to combat the flames.

Burst laser II and Firebeam could be better for balance of just ion blast stun + firebeam could work. (ahem, if you really wanted to see people burn and stun... why not make a fire stun beam? :D would help with balance and lets you stun multiple people, oh the fun!)

However I think the ship is okay as it is. This is probably me still trying to think this isn't a pirate ship or the fact I always sacrafice sensors/ doors to give the ship more omph.

Just ignore me (but do not ignore my stun fire beam idea ;) I am going to go start making that for my mod overhaul...)
