Origin
The Raptor is an attempt at creating a Lanius C type ship.
This one was made per request sprouting from a forum post on reddit where there was already a lengthy discussion on what it needed and didn't need.
Someone contacted me and asked me if I could make it giving me a list on what systems and weapons it needed.
Anyway, without further ado : The Raptor.

Strategy
The idea was to create a Lanius boarding ship relying on a medbay rather then a clonebay.
With boarding being the main offense, it lacks in the weapon system with just a heavy laser.
Furthermore, it comes with a hacking system combined with a hacking stun augment to help the boarding strategy along. So for the most part, you'll be using hacking in combination with your Lanius boarders to bring combat to a succes. It doesn't have sensors but comes with a life form scanner.
Another big point is that it does not come with an oxygen system but (unlike my previous project) can be purchased and installed if you really want it.

The ship replaces Lanius A.

All systems are available for purchase, and all the details have been taken care off. (Glows and stuff, something went a bit wrong when adjusting the glow surrounding the ship since I was also requested to remove the top and bottom fin...)

The ship has an artillery mount and weapon for those playing with Captains Edition, CE is required to use and buy the artillery but is otherwise not required to play with this ship. The artillery is weapon is the Bliss Neural Stunner found on slug ships.

Fixes and updates :
Gave it starting drone parts. :oops:
Fixed the glow a tiny bit, still not ideal but probably the best I can do
Oxygen set at a price of 50 scrap, can now be bought in a store rather then be a free gift.

P.S. I have a video for the first playtest (which went horribly wrong for reasons you'll see) already recorded and being uploaded as I write this. It should be up in less than 12 hours or so (gotta sleep first) :P

So I tried a run of this and I've gotta say, this is one of the most challenging boarding ships I've ever used. In the first sector alone, I rescued 3 mantis from slavers but I had to keep all of them in the med bay until I got oxygen 2 sectors later. I haven't been able to even get to sector 8 yet

Hey, I like the design and ive been using the ship quite a bit. But I was wondering if perhaps you could either tell me the program to use to edit this or if you could add oxygen and sensors, im trying to use this mod in conjunction with a few others and I don't want to have to cut it out. Thanks :0D

You can use the Superluminal ship editor to edit/create a ship mod for FTL. To edit this ship, you can also just open the ship's blueprints.xml.append file in any text editor (I suggest Notepad++) and change the system cost or other things accordingly.
