I frequently see the same thing happen to enemies when they teleport injured boarders back a moment too late.

Events in later sectors do give more scrap, but you should be able to earn well over 100 scrap in the first sector.

Except for the boss, no enemy ship has weapons that you can't get for yourself. The only difference is that sometimes enemy burst lasers don't all hit the same room (though they do the same damage per hit).

With some enemy ship layouts you can hit 4 rooms with the mini beam. Btw, if using the halberd beam or glaive beam and you can't take the enemy shield out entirely before firing, but enough for the piercing to do some damage, try to start the beam path on the shield room, as if it does enough damage...

Um, you revived a months old topic to say that? Btw, since the creation of this topic they did add steam cloud support. In any case I'm sure they are aware of what kinds of technical support for developers is offered by Valve.

FTL recharge is important if you end up in a fight you can't win. It's also helpful in leaving solar flares faster if there's no enemy ship.

The real reason to upgrade engines though is for the dodge chance.

I managed to win with it on normal once. Took a few tries though before I got past the early game in good shape.

It really would be a lot easier if it had the system casing of type A, not because that augment is worthwhile, but you can sell it for 50 scrap in order to help pay for a shield.
