Played the mod several times, won each one of them on normal, so it's probably somewhat overpowered. I am not sure this will work, but I'd suggest after reinstalling FTL cleanly, D/L clean version of GMM. I think it has the DescentIntoDarkness mod integrated into his "clean" database. In addition, it might be worth to move the mods you don't want to use currently into different folder. Go...

Last month I've spent all my dedicated project time by trying to animate fire-fighting sequence by throwing buckets of water. Just can't do it, too few pixels for my skill level
I will just have to do a water hose...
